Forex Online Trading Program

Like many other investments, forex trading carries a high level of risk and may not be suitable for all investors. Forex trading requires constant monitoring and an understanding of the relationship between currencies, as well as what factors influence the currencies' value. If you are a retail investor considering trading in this market, you need to understand fully the market and some of its unique features.
One final note before we begin. This program does not suggest that you should or should not trade in the retail off-exchange foreign currency market. You should make that decision after consulting with your financial advisor and considering your own financial situation and objectives.
This program should serve as just one element of your due diligence.
We have divided this program into six modules:
The fundamentals of foreign currency exchange rates; How foreign currencies are quoted and priced; How much it costs to trade foreign currencies; How to calculate profits and losses; How leverage works; and The risks of forex trading.
you can view module from http://www.nfa.futures.org
To help you understand the language of forex trading, we have developed a complete Forex Glossary of Terms. You can view this glossary at any time during the program by simply clicking on the “Glossary of Terms” button in the upper right portion of the screen.
What are foreign currency exchange rates
Let’s start with a definition of foreign currency exchange rates. Simply put, foreign currency exchange rates are what it costs to exchange one country’s currency for another country’s currency. For example, if you go to England on vacation, you will have to pay for your hotel, meals, admissions fees, souvenirs and other expenses in British pounds. Since your money is all in US dollars, you will have to sell some of your dollars to buy British pounds. Let’s assume that you have decided to take a trip to England. Before you leave, you go to your bank and buy $1,000 worth of British pounds. If you get 565.83 British pounds (£565.83) for your $1,000, each dollar is worth .56583 British pounds. This is the exchange rate for converting dollars to pounds. After spending a few days in England, you realize that £565.83 won’t be enough to cover all of your expenses. So you go to a bank in England and buy another $1,000 worth of British pounds. This time, however, you get only £557.02 for your $1,000. The exchange rate for converting dollars to pounds has dropped from .56583 to .55702. This means that US dollars are worth less compared to the British pound than they were before you left on vacation. When you arrive home, you still have some British pounds left. So you go to your bank and use your remaining £100 to buy US dollars. If the bank gives you $179.31, each British pound is worth 1.7931 dollars. This is the exchange rate for converting pounds to dollars. But what if you were traveling to France? The currency used in France is the Euro. If you go to your bank and buy $1,000 worth of Euros with an exchange rate of 0.8064, how many Euros will you get? When you think you know the answer, click Next. Exchanging $1,000 for Euros with an exchange rate of 0.8064 means you will receive 806.40 Euros. Conversely, if you were living in France and planned a vacation in the United States, you would go to your bank to buy US dollars with Euros.
If the exchange rate was 1.2403, how many U.S. dollars would you get for your 1,000 Euros? When you think you know the answer, click You would receive $1,240.30 for your 1,000 Euros.
Theoretically, you can convert the exchange rate for buying a currency to the exchange rate for selling a currency, and vice versa, by dividing 1 by the known rate. For example, if the exchange rate for buying British pounds with US dollars is .56011, the exchange rate for buying US dollars with British pounds is 1.78536. In other words, one divided by .56011 equals 1.78536. Similarly, if the exchange rate for buying US dollars with British pounds is 1.78536, the exchange rate for buying British pounds with US dollars is .56011 (or one divided by 1.78536 equals .56011). This is how newspapers often report currency exchange rates.
You should know, however, that you will not receive the price quoted in the newspaper if you trade forex. That’s because banks and other market participants make money by selling the currency to customers for more than they paid to buy it and by buying the currency from customers for less than they will receive when they sell it. This difference is called a spread and we’ll talk more about spreads later in this program.
As you can see, currency exchange rates fluctuate. Retail customers who trade in the forex market hope to profit from those fluctuations

Forex Market Snapshot

Introduction
The following facts and figures relate to the foreign exchange market. Much of the information is drawn from the 2007 Triennial Central Bank Survey of Foreign Exchange and Derivatives Market Activity conducted by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) in April 2007. 54 central banks and monetary authorities participated in the survey, collecting information from approximately 1280 market participants.
Excerpt from the BIS:
"The 2007 survey shows an unprecedented rise in activity in traditional foreign exchange markets compared to 2004. Average daily turnover rose to $3.2 trillion in April 2007, an increase of 71% at current exchange rates and 65% at constant exchange rates...Against the background of low levels of financial market volatility and risk aversion, market participants point to a significant expansion in the activity of investor groups including
hedge funds, which was partly facilitated by substantial growth in the use of prime brokerage, and retail investors...A marked increase in the levels of technical trading – most notably algorithmic trading – is also likely to have boosted turnover in the spot market...Transactions between reporting dealers and non-reporting financial institutions, such as hedge funds, mutual funds, pension funds and insurance companies, more than doubled between April 2004 and April 2007 and contributed more than half of the increase in aggregate turnover." - BIS

Gain Capital Group Launches 'Learn to Trade Forex;' Online Education Course for Investors New to Currency Trading

WARREN, N.J. -- GAIN Capital Group, a leading non-bank provider of foreign exchange (forex) trading and asset management services, today announced the launch of Learn to Trade Forex (www.learn-to-trade-forex.com), a new online training course designed to educate individual investors on the fundamentals of forex trading.
"Increasingly, self-directed individual investors are looking to the Forex market as an alternative asset class," stated Mark Galant, CEO and Founder of GAIN Capital. "They are attracted by the Forex market's superior liquidity, lower transaction costs, and 24-hour access. Consequently, there is a strong demand for education and tactical ways to trade currencies," continued Galant. We priced Learn to Trade Forex at $99 to make it accessible to anyone who has an interest in trading currencies," commented Mr. Galant. "The purpose of Learn to Trade Forex is to introduce investors to the Forex market, help them sharpen their trading skills, gain confidence and, ultimately, become better currency traders."
The self-paced course consists of seven lessons focusing on essential information needed to trade the Forex market. Students are taught how to:
--Understand currency quoting and the factors that drive individual currency movements
--Read and analyze currency charts using advanced technical tools
--Effectively utilize the leverage available in forex trading
--Manage risk and protect open positions using stop loss and other order types

--Anticipate and react to major economic events impacting global currency prices
--Employ sound money management techniques to maximize gains and limit losses.
In addition, all students receive a demo account funded with $25,000 of virtual money to practice lessons learned on a live trading platform.
Several lessons of the course are dedicated to identifying chart patterns and using technical analysis. "In many ways, trading currencies is similar to trading equities and futures, commented Mr. Galant. "Also, forex lends itself particularly well to technical analysis. More than 90% of the $1.9 trillion that is traded every day in the Forex markets involves the six major currency pairs. As a result, currencies trend very well and often trade with recognizable patterns," continued Mr. Galant.
In the past 12 months, GAIN's retail division, FOREX.com, has experienced a 150% surge in new accounts, indicating a growing interest in forex trading among self-directed individual investors.

Pleural mesothelioma

Pleural Mesothelioma The incidence of pleural mesothelioma will probably increase into the next century. A complete occupational history should include an inquiry about asbestos exposure, especially in patients with chest pain or dyspnea. The latency period between exposure and mesothelioma is as long as 50 years. In some patients, early diagnosis leads to a chance of cure. In most cases, however, there is no cure. Accurate diagnosis and a frank discussion of prognosis will allow patients to prepare for death. Pleural mesothelioma is a mesenchymal tumor that occurs primarily in the pleura (80 percent of cases) or the peritoneum (20 percent of cases).(1) First described in 1870, the association between mesothelioma and asbestos was not convincingly documented until 1960, when high tumor rates were found in South African asbestos miners.(2)

Mesothelioma is a rare tumor, with an incidence rate of one to two cases per 1 million persons per year. In some asbestos-exposed groups, however, mesothelioma accounts for 10 percent of all deaths.(3)
Early diagnosis is crucial for any hope of cure. Even in typical cases where cure is impossible, the diagnosis is important so that patients can prepare for death, both psychologically and practically.
Epidemiology
The term "asbestos" refers to any of a group of naturally occurring fibrous silicates, mainly crocidolite (blue asbestos, mined in South Africa), chrysotile (white asbestos, mined in Canada, the United States and the Soviet Union), amosite (brown asbestos, mined in South Africa) and anthophyllite (mined in Finland).

Exposure to asbestos is the number one risk factor for malignant mesothelioma. Of the types of asbestos, crocidolite is by far the most dangerous, followed by amosite and chrysotile.(4,5)
There is a latency period of 20 to 50 years between asbestos exposure and the development of mesothelioma. It was estimated that the incidence of mesothelioma would peak in the late 1980s, because of the heavy asbestos use in the shipbuilding industry during World War II.(6) Two considerations make it appear likely that the incidence of mesothelioma will continue to rise into the early twenty-first century.(7)
First, the safe level of asbestos exposure is unknown. Most risk estimates are extrapolated from studies of heavily exposed individuals.(8) The relevance of these data to lightly exposed persons is unclear. Most urban dwellers have some asbestos fibers in their lungs.(9) Family members of asbestos workers have developed mesothelioma,(10) as have persons living in the vicinity of asbestos plants.(11) Some cases of mesothelioma have been reported in persons who were exposed to asbestos for a period as short as two days.(12)
The uncertainty over safe levels of asbestos exposure is illustrated by recent government actions. In June 1987, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration lowered permissible exposure levels from less than 2 fibers per cubic centimeter of air to less than .01 fibers per cubic centimeter of air. The Environmental Protection Agency is considering a total ban on asbestos.(13) There is, apparently, no proven safe threshold level.(14)
The second reason for the growing incidence of mesothelioma is the fact that asbestos is still widely used in manufacturing and industry in the United States. Its strength and superior qualities of heat, acid and sound resistance make it an attractive industrial material. Asbestos is a component of concrete, asphalt, tile, industrial water filters, brake linings, clutch linings, pipes, paints, steam pipe insulation and electric wire insulation. Crocidolite, the most dangerous asbestos, is the fiber of choice for large-diameter pressure pipes. Although asbestos is usually bound inertly in these products, fabrication or use of the products often entails drilling or cutting the material, liberating dangerous asbestos dust in the process. Many workers in the construction and manufacturing industries continue to be exposed to asbestos.
Clinical Features
Chest pain and dyspnea are the most common symptoms of pleural mesothelioma.(15,16) The chest pain is characteristically nonpleuritic and varies in intensity from mild to incapacitating. Constitutional symptoms such as fever, weight loss and weakness are not uncommon. Despite the proven link between asbestos and mesothelioma, fewer than 50 percent of studied patients relate a definite history of asbestos exposure. This low figure may simply be a matter of inaccurate histories in persons with a disease that has a 20- to 50-year latency period or may reflect exposure to various dusts or chemicals presently unrecognized as etiologic factors, unrecognized incidental exposure or other etiologic mechanisms.
Physical findings are usually those of an underlying pleural effusion, which is present in more than 50 percent of cases at diagnosis. Other specific physical findings are usually lacking. The tumor may spread through the thoracic wall, producing subcutaneous nodules, but distant metastasis is unusual at the time of initial diagnosis, and such a finding suggests another type of tumor. In about 25 percent of patients, hematogenous metastasis to other organs will develop during the course of the disease.(17)

Chest radiographs are rarely normal in patients with mesothelioma. Findings include pleural effusion, pleural thickening, pericardial effusion, a mediastinal or chest wall mass, and pulmonary nodules.
Diagnosis is confirmed by tissue examination. In the presence of pleural effusion, about 30 percent of aspirated specimens of pleural fluid are positive for malignant cells. Pleural biopsy of the involved area is positive in about one-half of the cases and shows atypical cells in another one-third. If aspiration and needle biopsy of the pleura are negative, open thoracotomy with biopsy should be considered.
Patients with pleural mesothelioma require a multidisciplinary treatment approach, which may include surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Median survival is 12 months; only 5 percent of patients survive five years, although early diagnosis and treatment may occasionally lead to cure. Aggressive combination therapy has been reported to prolong survival, but such studies did not address quality-of-life issues, and the findings have not been uniformly confirmed.(18) The family physician's main task is usually to coordinate palliative therapy, assure pain control and provide psychologic support for patients and their families.
Illustrative Case
A 75-year-old man complained of constant upper-left lateral thoracic pain. He said he had fallen from his bicycle shortly before the onset of symptoms and attributed the pain to the fall. Physical examination was unrevealing. Rib films showed no abnormality, and he was treated with aspirin. When he was seen again one month later, the pain had not abated. His medication was changed to ibuprofen, again without total relief. A chest film at this time was normal.

For the next six months, the pain waxed and waned but was generally tolerable. The patient did not lose weight and, aside from weakness and mild dyspnea, did not complain of other symptoms. When the pain suddenly worsened, another chest film was taken, which showed a pleural mass and effusion in the upper left thorax At this point, the patient revealed that in 1937, he had been employed for 30 days as a lathe operator working on high-pressure pipes that contained asbestos. Pleural biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of mesothelioma.
Because of a recent myocardial infarction and worsening coronary artery disease, he was not a surgical candidate. Faced with the diagnosis, the patient entered a prolonged period of denial. A family conference was held, and the diagnosis, prognosis and practical options open to the patient were frankly discussed. When the patient accepted the diagnosis and the inevitability of death, he executed a durable power of attorney for health care, completed a will and made other financial decisions important to his family. He chose not to undergo chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
The patient's care was managed at home with the assistance of visiting hospice nurses and family counseling. He died three and one-half months after the diagnosis of mesothelioma was made.

This case illustrates several of the characteristics of mesothelioma. The patient was exposed to asbestos for only a brief period, and there was a long interval between exposure and the development of mesothelioma. Since the patient was working with high-pressure pipes, he was probably exposed to crocidolite. Initial symptoms were chest pain and dyspnea. The diagnosis was suggested by an abnormal chest radiograph, and the clinical course was rapidly fatal.
Pleural mesothelioma is an aggressive cancer. Early diagnosis can sometimes lead to a cure, but in most patients, diagnosis is important for allowing the patient to prepare for death. In the illustrative case, the patient was able to use his remaining period of competency to complete various legal and financial tasks. Failure to make a definitive diagnosis, combined with the patient's denial, could have imposed substantial legal, psychologic and financial burdens on the family as the patient's condition deteriorated.

The downside of online trading

When the market does fall, online brokerages should theoretically be equipped to handle four times as many trades as they currently process without a hiccup. But so far the hiccups won't go away. The sites for Schwab and E*Trade each went down five times earlier this year. E*Trade already faces several class-action lawsuits, and after customers complained that inaccessible sites caused them to lose money, regulators in New York began investigating the industry.

Because online brokerages have substantially upgraded their Internet and phone capacity, regulators may be more inclined to see investor behavior and misleading advertising by some online brokerages as the key issues. Earlier this year the Securities and Exchange Commission rebuked investors for trading online too quickly and too often. E-commerce analyst Bill Burnham of Credit Suisse First Boston predicts the SEC will require brokerages to post warnings to investors online that they aren't necessarily guaranteed access to the market at all times.
Still, in the next massive market sell-off, the best place for an investor to make trades will be online, says Burnham. "The traditional broker is only one human being with all these people calling him, whereas tens of thousands of trades can be processed at once online."

The Evolution of Google AdSense

The web has evolved into a complex "organism" which, to some, appears to have a life of its own. As the Internet has evolved, so too have online marketers and publishers. The dot-com balloon is said to have burst but savvy publishers have grabbed the coat tails of the Google search monster and employ Google AdSense on content-rich websites. Google AdSense, a pioneer for providing content-sensitive advertisements, has been a boon to webmasters looking for alternatives to amortize their web trafffic. How Does Google AdSense Work? The concept is simple: The publisher or webmaster inserts a java script into a website. Each time the page is accessed, the java script pulls advertisements from Google's AdSense program. The ads are targeted and related to the content contained on the web page serving the ad. If a web surfer clicks on an advertisement served from Google, the webmaster serving the ad earns a portion of the money that the advertiser is paying Google for the click.Google handles all the tracking and payments, ultimately providing an easy way for webmasters to display content-sensitive, targeted ads, without the headache of having to solicit advertisers, collect funds, monitor clicks or track statistics, any of which could easily become a full-time job. While Google AdSense, like many pay-per-click programs, is plagued by claims of click-fraud, it is clearly an effective revenue source for many reputable web businesses. There seems to be no shortage of advertisers in the AdWords program from which Google pulls the AdSense ads. Webmasters seem less concerned by the lack of information provided by Google and more interested in cashing their monthly checks from Google. The Evolution of AdSenseWhile Google's initial system was fairly rudimentary, only providing publishers the option of displaying a handful of advertising formats, the technology behind even the first ads was anything but simplistic. The technology used to employ Google AdSense goes far beyond simple keyword or category matching. A complex algorithm is used to determine the content contained on the web page serving the ad. Once the content is assessed, and appropriate ads that contain related content are served.Early on, Google implemented a system that allows publishers to filter advertisements from competitors or sites which they deemed inappropriate. Google also allows vendors to specify an alternative advertisement, in the unlikely event that Google is unable to provide related content ads. The Progression of GoogleGoogle has come a long way in understanding the needs of publishers and webmasters. Google now offers a system that allows full ad customization. Webmasters can choose from twelve text ad formats and can customize Google advertisements to complement their website and fit into existing webpage layout. The options provided allow webmasters to select and create custom color palettes that match an existing website's color scheme, making the ads a much more natural fit. Many sites have been able to integrate ads into their site design using different ad formats. Sample sites with integrated ads:Investing Partners - http://www.investing-partners.com Podcasting Tools - http://www.podcasting-tools.com . RSS Network - http://www.rss-network.comOnline ReportsGoogle recently took a huge step forward, providing publishers the ability to track their earnings based on webmaster-defined channels. Recent improvements to the Google AdSense reporting have resulted in webmasters having the capability to monitor an ad's performance with customizable online reports that can detail page impressions, clicks and click-through rates. Webmasters now have the ability to track specific ad formats, colors and pages within a website. Webmasters can quickly spot and track trends. The new flexible reporting tools allows webmasters to group web pages by URL, domain, ad type or category, providing webmasters insight into what pages, ads and domains are performing the best.Reporting is real-time, allowing webmasters to quickly assess the effectiveness of any changes. The new reporting makes it significantly easier for webmasters to optimize and increase click-through rates. Optional reporting allows webmasters to monitor traffic, viewing both ad impressions and page impressions. Advertisers realize the benefits associated with having their ads served on targeted websites, increasing the likelihood that a prospective web surfer will have an interest in their product or service. Truth Still Not RevealedGoogle still does not reveal what percentage of the advertising revenue earned is paid to the webmaster serving the ads, but they have made strides related to disclosure, recently lifting the ban preventing webmasters from disclosing the amount they earn through serving Google ads.

The Basics of Making Money with Blogs And AdSense

Google AdSense is undoubtedly the most popular Pay Per Click (PPC) program in the industry today. By enrolling your site under the said program, AdSense will display a series of ads on your pages. You stand to earn every time a visitor of your clicks on these ads. They don’t have to buy anything, mind you. They just have to click on the ads and nothing more. These ads are by no means random. They are contextually relevant, meaning, they are assigned based on their relevancy to the subject of your site.Could a blog substitute for regular sites when it comes to making money through AdSense? Yes people, blogs can also be provide an additional income stream through AdSense! In some aspects, a blog is a more efficient tool for this purpose. There are people online today making six figures per month from Adsense alone. Unbelievable but true! There are three determinative factors for the success of a site enrolled under the AdSense program.1. The Cost Per Click (CPC) that is carried by the ads assigned to your site.2. The number of page impressions, or simply put, the amount of traffic that passes through your site. If you garner a lot of page impressions, you have a better chance of acquiring a lot of clicks.3. Google AdSense and Blogs

If you have a blog, or are thinking about starting a blog, then you are definitely going to want to read this article. It’s all about how to line your pockets with money that’s just waiting to be made without working much harder than you already are. No only are blogs the hottest thing on the ‘net right now, but they are custom-made for Google’s AdSense program. Why? It’s simple. Blogs represent constantly changing and fresh content to Google’s search engine spiders. Feeding fresh content to those little spiders is just like tossing raw meat to a tiger. They just gobble it up. The more pages of your blog that get indexed, the more traffic you get. And the more traffic you get, the more exposure your AdSense ads get. Are you beginning to see where I’m heading here? It’s not just Google that loves new content, all of the major engines do. In fact, some web-savvy bloggers are testing Google ads on one page and Overture ads on the other. It doesn’t take too long to see which ads are doing the best when you have nearly side-by-side comparison statistics to look at. Just don’t make the mistake of putting Google and Overture ads on the same page together. While they won’t kill each other like a pair of Siamese fighting fish in the same bowel will, you will be violating both sites’ Terms of Service, and it isn’t worth killing the goose (geese) that laid the golden egg. It’s a snap to set up Google AdSense ads on your blog. Everything you need to know is right inside of the Google control panel. What’s not so easy is figuring out what ads are going to appear on each page. Since Google targets your key words, and your blog articles could possible wander towards any subject, you never know what you’re going to get. Well, “never” is a strong word because there actually IS a way to pre-test your blog’s ads before you post your newest edition. Here’s what you do: • Write your blog article like you normally would • Plug in your AdSense code and then post your newest page to a sub directory that’s not part of your blog. • Click refresh a few times until Google wakes up and starts sending ads. • If you don’t like what you see then fine-tune the article until you see the types of ads that you’re looking for. With some ads paying as much as $5 per click or more, I’d certainly spend an extra 30 minutes or so tweaking my blog. That’s for sure. If you’re working hard to get your blog in front of visiting eyeballs, then it doesn’t make any sense at NOT to be using Google AdSense to draw every penny out of your site that’s possible. OK, that’s the end of the article. Now get busy tweaking your blog and checking your ads. You’ve got money waiting to be made!

When AdSense Goes AWOL

No matter how hard you work to optimize your page, there are going to be times when Google just can’t figure out which AdSense ad to deliver, so it defaults to delivering a PSA (Public Service Ad) instead. Now I don’t have any problem with charities, but I give to the ones that I choose to give to. Since I don’t have a non-profit license of my own, the goal of my web site is to make money and I depend on Google AdSense revenues to help pay my bills. Someday I want it to fund my retirement as well, so I can’t afford to have non-revenue PSAs showing up on my site. The good news is the Google understands the human’s basic greedy nature, so it provides us with an alternative to donating our precious web real estate to charitable organizations. That alternative is known as AdSense Alternate Ads. As strange as it seems, this feature allows you to let Google competitors into your site. Don’t worry, Google is allowing it with their eyes wide open. They even tell you how to set up the alternate ad code to work on your site and they let you do it right in your AdSense control panel. Once you add the code to your site, Google will pull ads from whatever service you defined rather than serve a PSA. Google will do that even if those ads are coming from Yahoo, or Overture, or your grandmother’s attic. This goes a long way towards ensuring that you never lose an opportunity to monetize a visitor’s time spent on your site. How nice it is of Google to gives us that opportunity. Who do you choose? Ah, now that’s the big question. Most people head straight for Overture or Yahoo, but there are other fish in the sea worth considering. In fact, some of these fish make their living almost solely by serving replacement ads for PSAs. Run this search (http://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official_s&hl=en&q=google+psa+alternatives&btnG=Google+Search) on Google and you’ll have plenty of options to choose from. Why bother? Sometimes Google doesn’t have any ads in its inventory to match your site’s keywords. Sometimes Google gets confused and can’t figure out which ads to deliver, so it grabs a PSA ad. Google also has a not-so-readily-available list of what it calls “stop words”. When the Google AdSense spiders detect these words on your page they automatically trigger PSAs. Some of the more commonly known words include severe profanity (think: George Carlin’s 7 Words You Can’t Say on T.V), as well as other words which may very be quite legitimate for your site such as pharmaceutical, drugs, death, dying, abortion, and the list goes on and on. At least we THINK that it goes on and on but no one really knows for sure outside of a trusted few Google staffers. But no matter what the reason, you don’t want non-revenue ads running on your site. There’s no excuse when Google makes it so easy to keep the revenue flowing.

Adlink Success - A New Advertising Style From Google Adsense

There is a new advertising style from Google Adsense that is available in your Adsense panel, it is called “Google Ad Links.” This new ad system presents a list of 4 or 5 vertical links(you can pick either 4 or 5 and Google will supply the actually links) to your site visitors, when the visitors click on one of the targeted contextual words it displays a results page from Google listing ten Adwords advertiser’s ads for this related topic. Here is what Google says Adlinks are: “What are Ad Links by Google? Ad Links are a new form of text advertising that we're offering to our AdSense publishers. Using the same contextual targeting algorithm that targets Google ads to your content pages, Ad Links units display a list of topics that are relevant to your page. Each topic, when clicked, brings the user to a page of related advertisements. The result is advertisements that are closely targeted to the interests of your users. By selecting the topics through interaction with the ad unit, users are presented with useful information in the form of related advertisements. Their direct involvement with the evolution of the ad unit guarantees an interest in the ads that are presented.” Positive Aspects of Adlinks: They allow you to blend this in with sections of your links which will get more visitors to click on them, inevitably increase your Adsense revenue. The Adlinks ads display 10 ad results when clicked without cluttering you page. Google’s rules allow you to place three Adsense code block on a website. If you are doing this near say a 500 word article it can distract the visitor from viewing the article. With Adlinks you can still display 1 block of normal Adsense code and the Adlinks block and it keeps your page relatively nice looking while still giving you revenue potential. Negative Aspects of Adlinks: Adlinks requires your visitors to make two clicks. One on the original Adlinks block and one when they view the Adlink results. As any marketer knows the more actions you need a visitor to take the less the response rate. Where are the best places to display Adlinks ads? The best place to display them are within your navigation menu. Try to make them blend in as best as possible. Another great place to put them is at the end of an article suggesting an interested reader view these resources. When doing this the reader is very targeted since they red your whole article and if they are likely leaving your website, why not let them leave through Adlinks and make some money? Are Adlink ads as effective as the normal ad blocks? Well some have seen positive results while other have not. Personally I am going to test it some more to see what kind of results and make my decision then.

Treble your Adsense Income in 60 MInutes

Google's Adsense is one of the most powerful weapons in website publisher's arsenal. It enables you to monetize your sites easily and if used properly can generate a very healthy income. However, if you're not using it properly and maximizing the income you squeeze from it, your leaving money on the table – something we all hate doing. Boosting your return from Adsense can be done very easily and quickly, and you'll be amazed by the results. I ran Adsense on my sites for over a year before I discovered these techniques, and like many people, I though I was doing pretty well. My clickthrough rates and CPM figures were very healthy, and I didn't honestly think that they could be improved a great deal. How wrong I was. Immediately after I implemented a few quick changes my clickthrough rate more than doubled, and by doing some fine tuning I manged to get nearly three times as many people to click on the ads as had been previously doing so. The first technique is one that was 'discovered' by the amazingly helpful Debs, on SiteSell's SBI! forums. When I read it originally, it made sense and I decided to goive it a go, but I wasn't prepared for the immediate impact it would have on my income. It involves making only a few simple changes to the format and positioning of your Adsense ads. Firstly, forget about using banners or skyscrapers. These ad formats are almost universally ignored by surfers. Why? Because we've all been conditioned to recognise a skyscraper or banner as an advert and as these adverts are rarely of any interest, we ignore them. What's needed is a way of integrating Adsense ads into the editorial on your site as seamlessly as possible. To do this you need to do three things: 1. Use the 250 x 250 rectangle format 2. Make the background color of the ad the same as the background color of your site, or as close to it as possible. 3. Make the ads borderless by setting the border color to be the same as the background color of the ad. These changes can be made by logging into your Adsense account and creating a custom format. Just select the 250 x 250 ad format, and create a custom color palette. Use the color picker to pick the coor you want. The Javascript is automatically generated at the foot of the page, ready for you to copy and paste into the pages on your site. Now, you need to position your ads where surfers are most likely to click on them. Research using retina scanning technology has shown that the place that surfers tend to look at first and most often is the top left. I don't know the reasons for this, perhaps it's because that's where we're used to seeing the most useful search engine results (at the top of the rankings) and search engines are the sites we most often visit, so we automatically look at the same place on other sites. Whatever the reasoning, as soon as I made the above changes to my Adsense ads, clickthrough rates doubled, immediately. The second technique is much newer and one which is entirely based on my own experience. Google has recently added a new type of Adsense format, called Adlinks. This displays a series of links on your page in the same style of Ad unit as regular Adsense ads. When a user clicks a link they are taken to a page of adverts that resembles regular Google search results. As a publisher, you are paid every time a user clicks one of those ads. Adventurous soul that I am, I jumped in with both feet and started to trial Adlinks on my most visited pages as soon as it was launched. I'm using the four links in a square box format, positioned top left of my page content. After a few weeks of running Adlinks alongside regular Adsense ads, it's clear that the return on Adlinks is about a fifth to a quarter higher than regular ads. There's no clear reason for this but one explanation may lie in the fact that clicking on an Adlink takes the user to page of 'results'. When a user clicks on one of these, you are paid for the click. If the user finds what they want, great, if not, it seems that they hit the Back button on their browser and try again, just as you would for normal search engine results. Then they click on another result, and you get paid again. So it's possible to be paid more than once from the same Adlink click. Now, this reasoning is speculative, but it does make perfect sense in the light of my Adlinks results. Finally, Adsense has some excellent tracking statistics that allow you to track your results across a number of sites on a site by site, page by page, or just about any other basis you choose. This is a very powerful tool and you should use it to find out which ads are performing best for you and fine tune your Adsense and Adlink ads accordingly. So you see, by spending an hour or so of your time making a few adjustments to the Adsense ads on your sites, you can very quickly treble your Adsense income. Give it a go, you'll be amazed by the results.

Adsense – The Powerful Passive Income Generator

Webmasters have a revolutionary new method of collecting income from their websites. Whereas in the past advertising revenue was reserved for those sites with large a coming and going of visitors, now even teenagers are making a quick buck with their online hobby blogs. People place adsense on their online family photo albums, their blogs and their business sites. The minimum you would get, even with a small amount of traffic, is for adsense to pay for your hosting costs. Adsense revolutionized the world of paid advertising; banner advertising is based on the number of visitors you attract to your site, so the number of “banner impressions” dictate the revenue you receive. Google Adsense is quite different; it is the number of visitors that actually click on the advertising that determine how much you earn. There is also a great disparity between payouts; because advertisers bid up the price for certain keywords, some ads pay more than others. As such, a site with few visitors but expensive keywords in their google ads can potentially still pull in a hefty payout. Google really has taken the web by storm; attracted to passive income, more and more people are seriously capitalizing on their Google adsense advertising. Some of the highest earners manage to attract enough visitors to make a four figure monthly income, just from using adsense alone! This is not one of those get-rich-quick schemes and Google’s adsense success is largely thanks to the fact that Google already enjoyed a fantastic reputation before introducing the program. They are a publicly traded company with physical headquarters. This, and the fact that anyone can apply to use adsense for free, has caused millions of people to sign up. For google it was a smart move, because now they extend their presence to countless websites and generate millions of dollars in advertising revenue. People were never reluctant to sign up, because the program is free. Google benefits by more people using adsense, so offering it for free was the best thing they could do. One of the driving forced behind the program are its relevance to each and every page on a website; the program picks up keywords appearing in the website copy and automatically displays relevant ads. This increases the chances of people clicking through, and the webmaster collecting more revenue. People are leveraging their income by operating several websites and attempting to attract as many targeted visitors as possible; in many instances we can observe that people work hard at a site, then once it is established they can largely leave it alone, yet still collect significant checks. A major concern for entrepreneurs was the danger of a competitors ads showing up on their site; thanks to the adsense feature where it only displays relevant advertising. However this problem was solved by offering webmasters the option of filtering out unwanted ads. They can submit the URL of the competing site in their account, and any ads from the website will be blocked. Google recently came out with a new feature: small targeted keywords based on the site’s content are displayed; then as people click on those, a page opens showing a variety of pay-per-click ads based on that keyword. This gives webmasters the chance of displaying more advertising in less space. Adsense also adds creditability to your website; the more focused the content, the better the ads will be and this encourages people to built high quality websites. These make the net a better place and generally provide a free service; site owners can afford to share their expertise or passions because they can receive indirect revenue’s. The visitor does not pay for the information; instead the advertisers do, making the website’s existence possible in the first place. It is no surprise Google adsense is the most widely used form of advertising; they have created a program that is beneficial to both advertisers and users with their “no click no pay” mechanism, or more popularly called “pay-per-click”. Advertisers do not pay for ads that are not drawing visitors, and website owners are paid more for each click than they would if the system were based on the number of people viewing the ads, instead of clicking on them. All in all Google adsense has developed itself into a powerful tool, used by large corporations and the kid next door. They have truly revolutionized how the web thinks about advertising and made the process more profitable for site owners, while less costly for advertisers.

Google AdSense – The text link ad with clout

Webmasters place advertisements on their site to (hopefully!) help their web site visitors find additional information and products that are relevant to their site’s theme and therefore what those visitors came to their website looking for. Of course, it also helps if those advertisements also make money for the webmaster! Unfortunately, serving advertisements online isn't always easy. Many advertisement companies offering the service of placing ads on our sites have managed to turn the advertisement business into one big mess. Thousands of sites are bogged down with non-relevant pop-ups, pop-unders, pop-ins and banners. What happens to our sites if these advertisements rarely hit their mark? No matter how many banners and pop-ups we show about herbal remedies to our visitors if we run a website about car parts they will not be interested and they will never click on those ads. Not only that, but this kind of untargeted advertisement can even have a negative effect on our traffic. Who wants to go to a site that requires us to close pop-ups every minute or for every page we view? In order to have advertisements that are interesting AND relevant to our visitors there is now a program called ‘Google AdSense'. Google AdSense is a fast and easy way for website publishers of all sizes to display relevant, text-based, un-obtrusive Google AdWords ads on our website's content pages and earn money. Since the ads are actually related to what your users are looking for on your site, you'll have a way to both monetize and enhance your web page content. The program is free, and Google pays you for clicks on the AdWords advertisements on your site. Google offers their AdSense program to just about all website owners. After signing up for the program with Google you receive code to enter on the pages of your site and Google will dynamically generate ads that are relevant to your own web site’s content. Whenever a visitor clicks on one of the links in the AdSense ad on your site Google credits you with a percentage of money that was paid by the advertiser for that ad. AdSense also provides us with the option to be selective in which type of ads we want to display on our websites making it possible to send our visitors towards a certain type of products. To make it possible for everyone to integrate AdSense into their sites the program offers a wide variety of settings that allow us to alter the ads appearance. The Google AdSense program is incredibly accurate. By stepping beyond the boundaries of simple keyword matching it has become one of the most prominent tools to display accurate advertisements. A list of keywords is still used as the basis of triggering ads, but complex algorithms now ensure that ads that are not related to your site’s theme no longer show up. An AdSense service can be set up within minutes from the comforts of your chair and by providing your website's visitors with a certain amount of directed ads you can generate for yourself anything from a small to a sizeable income through the use of AdSense. 6 steps to Adsense Domination

When you make your living online, you realize the need for multiple streams of income. One of the easiest and most lucrative ways to generate a secondary income, which also happens to be passive, is via Google’s Adsense program. I’m sure you’ve read the claims of a few individuals generating five figure monthly incomes from Adsense. For many of you, I’m sure you are wondering why you aren’t making this same income yourself. Well, wonder no more. If you follow my simple six step system, you will be well on your way to healthy Adsense profits within three months. Are you ready? It’s now time to pay attention. Step 1 – Preparation. The key to making money with Adsense is all about numbers. BIG numbers! Sure, there are a few people making serious money with less than ten sites, but these are the exception. Your goal will be twenty-four sites in three months. That’s just TWO sites per week! In order to accomplish this, I recommend one of the many available page generation tools available today. Step 2 – Determine Your Markets. In order to maximize Adsense income with only twenty-four sites, you must know which markets are paying well. To break this down even further, you need to know which keywords within those markets are paying the most. Step 3 – Register you domains. Once you’ve identified and chosen your markets, you must register domains appropriate to those markets. For example, if your market is ‘Cabbage Patch Dolls’, a domain such as http://www.cabbage-patch-doll.com/ would be appropriate. Step 4 – Create your site. Using your favorite page generation software and keyword list, it’s time to develop your site. There are several key points to bear in mind when you develop these specifically for Adsense. 1. Format – Always use the large 336x280 large rectangle. 2. Border – Match the same color as your background. 3. Background color - Border – Match the same color as your background. 4. Link = "0000CC" 5. Color_url = "999999" 6. Color_text = "333333" 7. Position – Far left or center and just above the page fold (Top 25% of site) Step 5 – Verify and track your site Visit your site and make sure all links work and that the sites appear to your satisfaction. You should also check out the ads Google is displaying. Are they targeted to your primary high paying keyword? If not, recreate your site using your high paying keyword in a higher density throughout your site. Make sure you track your Adsense format, position, and traffic with a tracking system specifically designed for Adsense. Once you know your stats, you can adjust for maximum clickthroughs and higher revenues. Step 6 – Get your site listed in the search engines. This is simple… no tricks involved. Simply rent links to your site. A PR7 or PR8 link will do the job. While I’ve simplified the process here, you are now armed with enough information and resources to make some serious money with Adsense

Google Adsense Page Positioning

Correct positioning of your Google adsense ads can make or break your success with the Google adsense program. Why is this true? Some studies suggest that eye positioning on website gravitate to particular sections of web pages. And if you don’t have the necessary ads in these positions you will not get the clicks. I talked to countless people that have great traffic, some with 300 to 1000 new visitors a day that say that they only make approx. at max $10 to $20 dollars a month on the adsense program. What a shame. But when I look at their websites the ads are either buried in wording that no one usually pays attention to or the ads are located in positions that just don’t call any attention to their presence. So were the best locations for you Google adsense ads. Well, I have found the number one best place for the ads are near or in proximity to your main menu. Why near your main menu. Because you know that visitors eyes will and always look for the menu structure of your website. So the common places for placement should be to the top right, the very top under your menu, or the top left. These are the most common locations for you main menu. But what about the color scheme of the Google adsense ads? Yes, color is very important. You have to make the ads looks as seamless as possible. Here is an example on one of my website http://www.pottery-barn-outlet.com. Here I decided to position the ads at the very top right under my main menu. In direct eye contact. Also, remove the borders; just these two changes will increase your adsense proceeds one hundred percent. By using these tactics I was able to increase my adsense click through rate significantly depending on traffic level and people's interest. Take my advice and give it try. I believe you will see a change and hopefully make adsense a more pleasurable experience.

Where’s the best place to put Google Adsense Ads?

Why, on your web pages of course. Ok, just kidding. The real question should be: “Is there really any truth to the rumors that where you place those Google AdSense ads can actually improve response?” According to my best information, the answer to that question is: Yes. Google’s own AdSense experts say that that there is a direct correlation between the placement of the AdSense ads and the resulting clickthrough. When ads are placed in “content zones”, rather than in “advertising zones”, response rates on Google AdWords goes up. There are also indications showing that ads appearing on the right side of the page get clicked more than ads appearing on the left side. Advertising analysts with degrees in human behavior and psychology have spent thousands of man-years (people-years?) studying how people read printed and Internet content and what it takes to get them to respond to ads. While some of these studies are proprietary, or are only available to anyone with $10,000 or more to spend on a copy, other studies have been made public and can be read by anyone who is interested. Google themselves has released some relevant information which is focused directly on increasing your Google AdSense response. You can read their findings here (https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/static.py?page=tips.html). Of course, all of the studies in the world aren’t worth a hill of beans if the findings don’t work on your web site. That’s why it is important to test, test and test again. Experiment with your Google AdSense placement and track the results over a period of time. Google provides response tracking tools in your AdSense control panel. Learn how to use them. As you begin to see what may be only subtle differences in response, you’ll be able to determine what works best for your particular site. But don’t get complacent. What’s working for you now might not work next month if you change your site design or content. One of the most important factors in determining placement of your ads is the type of content that your site delivers. If you are primarily an e-commerce site, and you have a lot of pictures and ad copy for your own products competing for attention against AdSense ads, then it is going to be a particularly tough challenge getting any kind of decent Google AdSense clickthrough. It is situations like this that require very thorough testing and a lot of trial and error. Blogs seem to have a lot of success generating high response rates to Google AdSense listings. Perhaps it’s because blog readers realize that ad revenue is the only way that their favorite blogmaster can keep the lights on, so the readers think of clicking on ads as a way to make a donation. Regardless of what the experts say, your best bet is to tailor your Google AdSense ad placement to what your own experience shows works best for you. In the end, you’re the only expert who matters.

Adsense – When should you use it?

Well I have several sites, some of them I apply the AdSense to; to make a few extra pennies and some of my websites I wouldn’t even dream of placing Adsense to. For example, I will not use AdSense on a site that I wish to sell one product on, especially my own products. This can take your potential prospects away from what you want them to buy. Why would you risk losing them to your competition or to another site for a few lousy cents? Or dollars if you got the “higher” end priced AdSense ads on your site. All sites where I am selling a specific product will not have any out going links for me. I want to keep them on my site for as long as possible. However, I will use AdSense on sites that are more along the lines of “Free Content” websites. Usually these websites I set up, I use directly for making money with AdSense. What’s interesting with AdSense is that your layout can have a detrimental affect on how much you can earn from using it. Of course testing and re-testing will be your ultimate tool in finding out what works best with your website. I tend to stay clear of the lay out that looks like Google’s sponsored ads on the main Google website. Everyone identifies these ads as “paid” and not as likely to have as many people to click through them. Adsense can be a nice little profitable tool if used correctly.

6 Easy Ways to Increase your Adsense Revenue

How much revenue do you generate from Google Adsense? Recently there has been a lot of discussion about people who earn over $10,000 a month just from Adsense. Furthermore, there are rumors of a few individuals who earn over $1 million a year just from using the power of Google advertisements. So what is Google Adsense and how can you use this program to earn a six-figure income? About two years ago, Google created this program to help websites to monetize their web-traffic. Here's how it works: Webmasters obtain a special code from Google which then displays targeted ads on their website. Whenever a visitor clicks on one of these ads, the webmaster earns a commission. Unlike other online businesses, there is no selling involved. All you need to do is get people to click on the ads. Although this is an excellent way to generate an income, many websites are not effectively maximizing their Adsense potential. As a result, they are leaving a lot of cash on the table. The question is how can you increase your Adsense revenue without increasing the number of web visitors? The key to earning an income with Google Adsense is to have your ads match the rest of the site, making them look like part of your content. Your focus is to avoid having the Adsense blocks look like blatant advertisements. The following are six ways that you can do this and increase your revenue at the same time: 1) Find the right place- Most website visitors read content that is in the middle of a webpage. As a result, the best place to put your Adsense block is in the top part of the page, at the beginning of your web content. You want to weave the Google Ads into your web content to give the appearance that they are extra links which expand on the information of the page. 2) Use the Large Rectangle-With Google Adsense, you have the option of picking different ad formats. Most of the time people opt to use the Leaderboard (728x90) or Wide Skyscraper (160x600) style ads. Unfortunately, this is the wrong choice, because both look like blatant advertisements. Instead smart webmasters have found that using the Large Rectangle (336x280) yields the best amount of click-thrus. 3) Ditch the border- Many people experience a sharp increase in Adsense revenue when they changing their border. What they change is very simple…they get rid of the border on their Adsense blocks. This is another way to make the advertisements look like useful web content. 4) Adapt the font- Whenever you write content, it should be the same font size and style as your Google Adsense block. This will help make it appear that the advertisements are a natural part of your website. 5) Match the colors- In addition to changing the fonts, you also should match the colors of your website. For instance, if your content is written in black, and your hyperlinks are blue, then the Adsense blocks should also be the same color. Again, this helps the advertisements appear to be normal web content. 6) Don't have too many distractions- On a webpage, it is important to give web visitor a limited number of options. By having too many links and graphics, the web visitor might go to a section that doesn't help increase your profits. While it is important to inform and entertain your web visitor, it is also vital that you monetize your site. So if the main focus of your site is to earn an income through Google Adsense, then get rid of all non-essential links and graphics. By taking the time to implement these six simple steps, you'll see a dramatic increase in the click-thru ratio of your ads. If added to all of the content of your site, your Adsense income will skyrocket!

AdSense is Stupid When...

There are times Google's heralded ad affiliate program isn't in your long term business interest. Oh no I said it! AdSense isn't the unstoppable revenue engine for every eBusiness. Before I am taken out and flogged by the eCommerce pundits -- please let me explain what I mean in my defense. I make revenues from AdSense at a very high click-through rate. I experience high click-through rates with AdSense without resorting to questionable tactics like tricking site users with photos (the AdSense trick and tip dujour). So my perspective is from one who has made decent income from AdSense to fund aspects of his business like advertising seminars -- and outsourcing to his virtual assistants. Yes, AdSense is a legitimate and significant revenue source. However evaluate AdSense with some type of balance. By now you may have heard about people like Joel Comm's six figure income with AdSense, or Jason Calacanis of Weblogs being on his way to generating 1 million dollars in AdSense revenue. Google's Ad revenue sharing affiliate program for publishers certainly seems to be an eSales Nirvana for many webmasters. But there are obvious and not so obvious times not to use AdSense ads on your sites. Let's list - examine - and explain them below. ~~~~> 1. On Sales or Mini-sites This is a no-brainer. If you are trying to sell a particular product that is important to your bottomline, you don't want AdSense ads distracting your customers from either joining your email list, or hindering your site's online sales process. However I do see hybrid sites that are mini-sites or full scale eCommerce sites, with AdSense at the bottom of their pages. This might not be so bad since only 1% - 15% of your site visitors will either buy from you or fill out a form. The thinking with this approach is you might as well make money from disinterested parties using up your server's bandwidth. ~~~~~> 2. SEO Business Sites If your livelihood depends on search engine optimization or marketing for a living you might want to think twice about displaying AdSense Ads on your site. I can tell you this from personal experience. I once was on top of MSN for search engine marketing in my local area. I concentrated on my local area because I found people felt more comfortable hiring an eCommerce consultant locally. One day my site fails totally out of the MSN index. After intense study I noticed that I obviously had a filter on my site from MSN. I analyzed all the top ranking sites in MSN and noticed the only difference between me and the other top ranking sites was I had Google AdSense ads on my site. Someone at MSN felt that my AdSense ads, and perhaps to a less extent, my book on SEO, was getting a free ride in the MSN search engine database. In fact I noticed that there were no sites with AdSense ads for at least the first 3 pages. Plus the sites with AdSense were only using 1 ad unit at the bottom of the home page (there were very few of them in the top 5 pages). I knew it was strange to not have AdSense ads on the top Internet marketing sites. This prompted me to scan other industries where I noticed the same trend. Many of the leading SEO gurus have sites that have been banned from the top listings by the search engines. It seems the more visible you become, the more of a target your sites are to the search engine auditors. Some of my sites are still on the top of MSN with AdSense ads but that doesn't mean they won't also be targets in the future. Let's face the facts. MSN and Yahoo! have competing ad networks to Google's, and this competitive situation is rife for a potential backlash against SEO sites with AdSense ads. Many SEOs will point to exceptions to this position. However you have been warned! Think about it, how long will MSN and Yahoo! sit back and watch SEO driven websites use their search indexes to fund Google? Did you know SEO in MSN and Yahoo(!) --- is much easier to obtain. Therefore optimized sites are creating an ad sales wealth transfer from MSN and Yahoo into the pockets of Google! It won't be long before Yahoo! and MSN begin to devalue ranking on AdSense sites in their databases -- if not outright ban them. If you are in the search engine business stay search engine neutral, or create multiple sites for different search engines. ~~~~~> 3. When AdSense Becomes Your Only Business Model When you become so myopic in your thinking that you build a business solely on AdSense revenue -- think again my friend. Why build a business solely on the largess of Google? I don't know if your realize it or not, but the sites making the real big AdSense money usually have a following that doesn't depend on the search engines. Internet mavens like Chris Pirillo or Joel Comm have been on the Internet a while and have followings for their websites. Therefore they can consistently make six figures with AdSense. These content powerhouses are an asset to Google and not the other way around. But do you think Google is going to sit back and watch just anybody make big bucks off of their top rankings? If you do a search on most keywords you will notice many of the top ranking sites are news sites, .gov sites, or .org sites these days. The only exception is in industries where these sites don't really exist like eCommerce industries (clothing, shopping, etc.). No doubt in most industries you will notice a conspicuous scarity of AdSense sites in the top rankings. In other words don't bet your future fortunes on AdSense. An IPO based on projections of AdSense revenue isn't in the future for the average eBusiness. Think of Google AdSense as supplemental income. Building a business solely on AdSense revenue isn't just silly -- it's just plain stupid. About the author:Kamau Austin is the publisher of over ten websites. Easy Steps To Hands Off Passive Income

So you want to increase your Adsense income? Log into your Adsense account, and look at your last month's stats. There are three key areas that contribute to your earnings: Impressions, Clickthroughs and Effective CPM. Improving your stats in any, or preferably, all of these three key areas will increase your Adsense earnings. Impressions Impressions are the number of times your webpages with Adsense ads have been viewed. You can increase Impressions by increasing traffic (preferably targeted traffic) to your webpages. Some of the best ways to increase targeted traffic to your webpages include: -create more webpages, with relevant, focused content -create more links to your webpages -list your website/s under relevant categories in more directories -set up a directory of relevant sites on your website and accept relevant reciprocal links -write relevant articles, with your site information in the 'resource box' at the end of each article, and submit them to article directories -advertise with pay per click search engines like Google's Adwords. www.Miva.com (formerly www.FindWhat.com, www.YahooMarketing.com (formerly Overture) and 100's of others. When of the best places for pay per click info is www.payperclicksearchengines.com with a descriptive list of 659 search engines.Clickthroughs Clickthroughs are the percentage of viewers who click on your Adsense ads. You can increase Clickthroughs by increasing the relevance of Adsense ads on your site, and by tweaking the format and placing of your ads. Although you can't dictate which Adsense ads show on your site, you can influence the relevance of the ads by maintaining a tightly focused website. If every page on your site focuses tightly on the site topic, its more likely that the Adsense ads will too. For example, if every page of your site is about fishing, and the word 'fishing' appears several times on every page, its likely that your Adsense ads will relate to fishing. The best way to tweak your ad format and placement is to invest in an Adsense Tracker, and test, test, test! People who have done this tend to suggest that the best format is the large rectangle, with background and border the same color as the page behind it, so that the ad blends into the page. The best placement is towards the center or top left of the first screen of the page. Try these suggestions first, and then track and test, to be sure of what works best for your pages. Effective CPM Effective CPM is a measure of your average earnings, per thousand clicks. You can increase your Effective CPM by selecting topics that attract high bids from Adsense advertisers, and building pages and whole websites on higher paying topics. Although Google doesn't release information on Adsense bids, you can get a good idea of the top paying topics by looking at information on Adwords bids, or, for that matter, bids on pay-per-click search engines like Overture. There are a number of keyword research tools available, both free and paid, that can help you find high paying topics. The Formula So now you have the basics of increasing your Adsense income. Its a deceptively simple formula: -Build pages and websites on high paying topics for the best Effective CPM. -Format and place your Adsense ads for maximum Clickthroughs. -Promote your sites to drive targeted traffic to your Adsense webpages for maximum impressions.
